Caring for an orphan.

A regular commitment to contribute to children’s essential needs and remind them that they are not forgotten.

The merit of sponsorship

A human and spiritual responsibility.

In the Muslim tradition, caring for the orphan holds a special place. The Prophet ﷺ held his index and middle fingers together to illustrate the closeness, in Paradise, to the one who cares for an orphan.

Sahih al-Bukhari, 6005.
“I and the one who cares for an orphan will be in Paradise like this.”— Sahih al-Bukhari

Act over time

Regular support carries the aid beyond a one-off intervention.

I have complete trust in this association, which does a wonderful job of enabling us to build a real bond with our sponsored child and his family. Sponsorship goes far beyond material aid: it is a human adventure that brings enormous joy, a deep sense of usefulness and the pride of watching a child flourish.

Alhamdulillah, for a little over two years I have been lucky enough to sponsor a little boy with Eilmy. This closeness, and all the good I get from it, naturally led me to take the plunge recently and sponsor a second child.

I have only been sponsoring for a short time, but I am very happy to do it. My sponsored child is called Jouri; her father fell as a martyr, like so many men, women and children in Gaza!

This sponsorship means so much because, even if it does not directly save Gaza, it still helps, in a modest way, to save Jouri and to improve her daily life as much as possible 💚

The programme is very serious. I have automated the transfers, and I receive news of the child I sponsor: I know her name and I can exchange with her through messages translated by the Eilmy team.

It is lasting aid that meets a real need. Alhamdulillah, €50 a month is possible for me, and I know it will modestly help an orphan girl who already lives in very difficult conditions. It is real, concrete, long-term help.

I have been sponsoring a Gazan orphan for more than a year now, and I sincerely believe it is one of the most beautiful things I have ever done. For a long time I had wanted to feel useful to these children. To my mind it is a plaster on such a deep wound, but already a huge act.

I am infinitely grateful to Eilmy for allowing me to feel useful to my brothers and sisters in Palestine. To everyone who reads this message: if you can afford it, go for it! I promise you will never regret it.

Today we live in a society of overconsumption, and I would a thousand times rather my €50 go to this orphan than be spent on some fleeting, worthless trinket.
